The barrel is marked S-A 12-51, indicating a Springfield Armory barrel produced in December 1951 and installed during an official U.S. Army arsenal refurbishment. This configuration is historically correct and commonly seen on rifles that remained in U.S. military service after World War II.

The rifle retains standard military features including a blade front sight with protective ears, a fully adjustable rear aperture sight, and an overall parkerized metal finish. The gas cylinder and front band exhibit later black enamel applied over parkerizing, consistent with documented U.S. Army arsenal maintenance practices.

The rifle is fitted with a three-piece U.S. military walnut stock set that was refinished during service, presenting a smooth and well-preserved appearance. The front handguards display a slightly different tone compared to the rear stock, consistent with normal U.S. Army service maintenance and component replacement over time.
