“Golden Spike“ clanged under the ceremonial mallet at Promotory Summit, Utah on May 10, 1869. And in 1969, Winchester, honored the 100th anniversary of this historical event with the Golden Spike Commemorative Carbine. This unique firearm was authorized by the Golden Spike Centennial, Celebration Commission, the Union Pacific, and South Pacific Railroads.
The carbine features a straight grip stock and forearm of American walnut. The barrel band and magazine bands are gold plated. The round barrel is inscribed with “Golden Spike Commemorative”. The sights are hooded front and semi-buckhorn rear.
