Looking to sell my 1883 Winchester Hotchkiss chamberd in .45-70. This example is one of 712 that were tested by the US government in the 1880s. The results of that trail ended up with the army deciding not to adopt any repeating rifle, so no further orders were made.

This rifle is martially marked and has the inspector cartouches marked on the stock.

The rifle is in good working condition, and will cycle snap caps well. The last round tends to get held in the mag tube, but that could just be the nature of snap caps. There seems to be a slight bulge behind the front site. Dosen't seem to affect the rifle, but it is worth mentioning.

This rifle is black powder only, trapdoor springfield loads are recommended.

Although this rifle was made in 1884, it is not considered antique status, so PAL verification is required.

Looking to get $2900 local pick up, or $2950 shipped for the rifle.
