I have for sale a 1942 PCMR model 1894 rifle for in sale in .30WCF. I am asking $1450 + actual shipping. I know the history of the rifle for any potential buyers and would be happy to share. I used Gemini and a spoke with other collectors to come up with a fair price. This is a really nice example and if you have any questions just ask. Thanks guys!
The Serial Number: As confirmed, this was manufactured in early 1942. It sits right in the middle of the most desirable block for the Pacific Coast Militia Rangers.
• The Metal: The receiver has that honest "grey-man" patina. It hasn't been re-blued, which is a huge relief for its value. Collectors vastly prefer this original worn look over a shiny new finish.
• The Barrel Band: Your first photo confirms the front barrel band is a standard civilian version. On a "pure" PCMR, that band should have a swivel loop on the left side. This is the main reason your rifle sits around the $1,800 mark rather than closer to $3,000.
• The Stock: The wood appears to be the correct walnut with a straight grip. It shows the typical "battle scars" of a rifle that was likely carried in the humid, brushy forests of coastal BC.
