NO TRADES. PRICED TO SELL. Stevens model 44 falling block in 32-40. This is a larger more substantial Centerfire rifle NOT the Stevens Favorite. Bore isn’t great. Barrel is 26 inches long. Breech and extractor look intact with firing pin. Lever has “lever droop” indicating it will need the action pins/bushings redone. Trigger looks modified for some reason. Hammer holds half cock but won’t hold full cock. Forestock looks good, butt stock has some cracks as shown and evidence of a screw or bolt repair behind the tang. Steel butt plate is intact. Sights are mounted. 2. Second barrel is another model 44 barrel in 32-40. 28 inches long, that has had the bore drilled out for relining. Roll marks stamping on this barrel are more prominent than the mounted barrel. 3. 22 Hornet barrel from a Savage 340/Stevens 325, 22 inches long with an excellent bore. Light random flecks on the exterior bluing and a mark or two on the barrel nut. In my opinion, the 22 Hornet barrel could be mounted to the action, or trimmed down to fit inside the reamed out 32-40 barrel. I don’t know I’m not a smith. Cool little project if you’re into some lighter smithing work as parts for the Stevens 44 are still available. I unfortunately have too many projects on the go. Priced right for you to give it a new home. $375 FIRM PLUS ACTUAL SHIPPING. PAL will be validated online with the CFC. Local pick up may be possible in Oshawa at the 401.
