I am seriously thinking about moving south so thinning my collection before I leave. This one is an Argentine Mauser M1891, the first generation of Mauser smokeless rifles. It is similar to Belgian M1889 but removed barrel shroud. Visible serial numbers on the rifle are matching, some parts like magazine and barrel bands are nickel/chrome plated. I found some other Argentine 1891 are in the same status, maybe they were used by honor guards. Both metal and wood are in good condition, no live rust, pitting or crack. Still some cosmoline on the bolt/action. Receiver crest clear visible. I haven’t shot it but manually cycles well. The bore need some cleaning but rifling still strong. See all details in the Flicker album. Asking $1100, shipping on buyer if needed.
