This is one of the 8000 rifles made by FN for Venezuela in 7x57 Mauser. Sought by collectors because it has the scope mounting cut and integral muzzle brake. Though Venezuela never had ended up getting the scopes for these rifles.
One of the last battle rifles still legal!
A joy to shoot. 7mm is easy to get and reload. Rifle is in very good condition. Bore is good. Lots of rifling and life left. Shoots well - good accuracy.
Comes with a reproduction scope mount that matches the original ones seen on other FN49 sniper rifles. I purchased these repros from a gent in Belgium 20yrs ago to hopefully find an OIP scope to complete the sniper variant look. The bottom piece is blued. The top piece is still in clear aluminum. You can still operate the iron sights with this mount.
