Winchester 1873 “ musket “ C1890 re done to .45 LC

Curious Cool  old piece . C1890 , Now 23 1/4” barrel . Re bore to .45 and chamber .45LC . Totally functioning , test fired 10 rounds hand loaded w full round nose lead ( semi wads will NOT feed properly ) . 6 gr. Unique w 255 gr Lee .452-255R bullet . Gives proper OAL for a lever gun and approx 600-630 fps. She Shoots high at 40 yards , hold low on “ gong “ and hit every time  . Brass carefully inspected . No bulges , no cracks , no evidence of head space !! Basically a dark patina finish and visual areas of pitting along barrel channel and receiver edges . Bore as expected is excellent . NO foreign proof marks found that may have indicated a South American conversion . I suspect a domestic smiths work at this point . New looking “ action toggles “ and pins . Stock is original but I suspect some modifications to the fore wood sections . Back sight appears original . Front obviously has been re cut and mounted but appears not done “ yesterday “ . A cool old 73 that you can have some fun with using sensible moderate loads , however seek out professional opinions as to safe shooting and loads !!
