Here’s one you don’t see often! Up for sale is my 4th series Type 38 Carbine made at the Nagoya arsenal in Japan. The bolt matches the receiver, and features a fully intact chrysanthemum. The series number dates this somewhere between 1933-1940 and based on the low serial number, it’s likely a pre-war manufacture date.

If only this rifle could talk, what a story it could tell. This one has been-there and done-that. The metal is a bit rough, but I have test fired this rifle and it shoots and functions as it should. The wood has a lot of character and shows a few battle scars (see last 3 pictures) and the upper hand-guard is a bit loose as a result. This rifle has been through war and it shows, but that’s what makes it so interesting to me.

According to my research only 400,000 of these carbines were produced, so I don’t imagine you’ll see too many of these come up for sale - especially with a matching bolt and intact mum - perfect for your collection!

Caliber is 6.5x50 Arisaka.

I’m asking $1800 for this piece of history. Located in SK, but will ship at the buyer’s expense. EMT or cash only. First “I’ll take it” gets it. Feel free to try me with your trades! If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask and I’ll try my best. Thanks for looking.

Cheers,

Tyler
