This is an excellent example of the classic **Marlin 39a lever-action rifle**, chambered in .22 Short, Long, and Long Rifle.  
Widely regarded as one of the finest .22 lever actions ever made, this is the **standard JM-marked version** (pre-Golden model), known for its superb craftsmanship and smooth operation.
