Sharps Conversion Sporting Rifle 45 70

Original Sharps Meacham type conversion rifle in 45 70 with 28" barrel.

Rifle is complete and functional with usual wear and tear from last 150+ years.

Stock and forearm are solid with some missing wood at front of stock next to the frame that can be seen in the photos.

Action functions properly and chambers / ejects cartridge well.

Bore is slightly dark with strong rifling and some freckling.

This rifle was likely assembled at Sharps in the last years of operation from leftover parts.

Has been marked "Long Range" on barrel which was likely just a marketing feature.
