Egyptian FN-49: Its' wood bears the typical scars of a battle rifle that has probably seen action, as it was made under contract between 1949 and 1952. The wood is as I received it, no oil or varnish to slick it up or mask its well earned scars. It is sound, no cracks. The metal is quite good with most of its original finish, but no rust or pitting! It is all matching as far as anything numbered goes.
The bore is nice with good rifling. It will shoot 5 shot, 50 yard, groups with most shots touching or intersecting, and that's with its original battle sights! The magazine has been professionally pinned to limit capacity at 5 rounds. It can be shot in semi automatic or single shot with manual ejection, you just have to remove the gas plug and install it 180 deg.
The machine work on the action is phenomenal, makes the Garand look third world!
Additional photos of targets, showing its accuracy, can be supplied.
All in all, a nice example of an Egyptian FN-49. The purchaser will assume all shipping costs and any desired insurance.
