BRNO K98 Mauser (numbers matching)

This is an extremely nice example of the post-war 8mm K98k’s that were assembled into the bcd style semi-Kriegsmodell configuration by the Czechs, largely using stocks of wartime parts. It is clearly stamped with BRNO production markings on the left rail. This is not a Yugo, DDR or Russian Capture Mauser.

The bore is mirror bright and appears excellent. The receiver, bolt, bolt shroud, front band, stock, hand guard, butt plate, and bottom metal are stamped and numbers matching. The cocking piece and wing safety are electro-penciled to match. The correct 12 ½” cleaning rod and sight hood are present. Very few handling marks are present on the stock and hand guard. There are no cracks in the laminated stock or handguard. There is no corrosion or pitting  on any of the metal. The bluing presents very, very well. Amazingly, the screw slots are undamaged. A period correct (not a cheap knock-off) post-war K98 sling is included in the sale.

All components required for this rifle to operate are present and 100% functional, including the complete bolt assembly, ejector, trigger group, bolt hold open, rear sight adjustment, magazine floor, follower and spring. I have not disassembled or fired this rifle, and suggest that a competent gunsmith should examine it before use.
