YES THIS IS A ANTIQUE
(pre 1898 made in "1860s" bore larger than 8.3mm and not a center fire or RF and a rifle)
Based on its original Dreyse needle-fire mechanism, unmodified construction, and apparent mid-19th-century manufacture, this side-by-side double rifle satisfies the technical criteria for classification as an antique firearm under Section 84(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada, subject to confirmation of its manufacturing date.
It is an original historical needle-fire sporting rifle, not a modern centrefire firearm or a reproduction.
