This SMLE Mk I** was manufactured by London Small Arms Co. (LSA) in 1905. In 1931, it was converted to Indian Pattern configuration and rechambered for .410 cartridge.
A historically interesting example showing conversion of an early SMLE to Indian Pattern configuration.
The upper handguard has a crack that has been previously repaired with adhesive.
