Offering a prize of my collection, needing funds desperately as mother is in the hospital and wife is very ill, so it is priced to sell quickly.
This is a once in a lifetime chance to own a genuine, true masterwork antique shotgun. The carving of wood and metal is incredible, you can imagine how many hours by candlelight a master spent working on this piece. 1840's, maker's name inscribed in silver on the center rib: M. Holzer in Offenburg, a master gunsmith of his era. Swamped (weight balanced) barrels. The hammers are carved dragons, the actions and stock are beautifully carved.
The shotgun is unique in that it has two hexagonal barrels - where the entire barrel is a hexagon! As well, the hammers have manual external safety stops, allowing it to be carried with caps on it and covered by the hammer caps! Extremely rare, neither myself nor my 83 year old black powder international competition shooting coach have ever seen before.
Loads from the front (muzzle), percussion cap. Fully working, both hammers work perfectly well. 12 Gauge or so, I have shot this and ended the existence of many a skeet and clay pigeon. Excellent wood and very good bores, clean nipples.
I paid much more than I am asking for it a long time ago, but needs must and without its sale I will be very poorly off. So to a new home she will go.
No PAL needed.
I feel my price is already very fair, I would be open to offers such as include shipping for the right buyer.
