Norinco 1897 "trench gun"

This shotgun I have fired maybe 10 or so shells, 2 of those shells were the challenger low recoil slugs and this thing hates them but other than that it was fine with bird and buck. I have not stripped the shotgun ever and I am the 2nd owner, that being said the slamfire function does work and there is a half cock position for the hammer but I have not tried slam firing with live shells only dummy shells however i'm assuming it would be fine.
