RCAF Combat Flyer's/Bomber Jacket Type V-AFG FR Afghan War Size: 7042 Medium Regular

Genuine Canadian military-issue RCAF Combat Flyer’s Jacket Type V-AFG FR. This is a genuine Canadian military flight jacket designed for aircrew and operational use, featuring a practical, compact design that works equally well as a military collectible, work jacket, or everyday streetwear piece. These are commonly referred to as "Bomber Jackets". I personally think these are very stylish jackets.

These jackets often suffer from lots of fading to the point they become a tan or khaki color. This particular jacket is still very much green with fading and it has a nice patina or toning essentially. It's kind of similar with vintage M65 jackets, the older they get the lighter the green is and they have a really nice vintage look to them. A good representation of the color change from the original brand new issued color when this was made in 2001 compared to now is to look at the picture I took of the epaulette, because the RCAF member would have had their rank insignia badge on their epaulet it essentially made a tan line. I think it gives these jackets a really cool unique look and I wish this jacket was in a larger size because I would just keep it otherwise.

This particular example is a great medium-weight flight/utility jacket, making it especially useful for fall, spring, early winter and cooler summer weather. 

The Type V-AFG FR designation refers to the Canadian Forces Combat Flyer’s Jacket configuration, with FR being (flame-resistant). And I believe V-AFG is Variant- AFGhanistan.

These Canadian military flight jackets are considerably less common than standard-issue combat clothing and aren't something you see every day on the surplus market. A particularly cool piece for anyone interested in Canadian military aviation and genuine issued CF clothing.

This jacket has an integrated hood (often missing), waist cinches, lots of pockets and a full length double layered zippered front.
