The M-1965 Cold Weather Field Coat was in service with the U.S. military from 1965 to 2009.This Olive Green (OG-107) example is marked in large black stencil 'MCRD RECRUIT' in the center of the back. This indicates that it was issued to the U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego and used by U.S.M.C. recruits. The large white label on the interior of the back below the collar is heavily worn and basically illegible. The brass zippers indicate the coat is a 2nd pattern example that was manufactured from 1972 to 1986. It is made of a wind/water-resistant 50/50 cotton nylon blend. The shoulder width is approximately 18 inches, the height is approximately 29.5 inches, and the sleeve length from armpit to cuff is approximately 18 inches.

All zippers are functional and all buttons/snap fasteners are present. It features a zippered fly with 6 snap fasteners, a mid-waist interior adjustment drawcord, a bottom interior adjustment drawcord, adjustable cuffs (via a Velcro tab), a Velcro collar closure tab, an integral stowable hood (stows in a zippered compartment on the outside of the collar), 2 large chest cargo pockets with flaps (each flap has a single snap fastener), 2 large front hip cargo pockets with flaps (each flap has a single snap fastener), & 2 buttoned shoulder straps. It also has liner attachment buttons along the collar interior and both sides of the fly interior as well as button attachment slots along the collar exterior for a detachable hood.

It is in heavily worn condition with lots of staining to the outside. But it is intact as far as all components being present and no damage to the fabric.
