6'8" 2/1 3.2 oz 4 or 5 wt English bamboo fly rod, NOS

This handsome new, unfished English dry fly rod for DT4 or 5 lines was handmade by G.R. Brandreth of Derby, UK sometime between 1970 and 1980. Reg Brandreth specialized in bamboo brook and small river rods, becoming one of the top rod makers in the peak and lake districts, and this small stream trout rod has a classic English dry fly action, oxidized nickel silver ferrules, dark hardware, forest green wraps and an ultalight grip insert of cigar maker's Spanish cedar. It has been stored propery and both sections are straight with no set. It casts well with a DT4F Cortland Sylk, but some might prefer to fish it with a 5.  Rod sock and handmade ferrule plug included but no tube (I can include a tube for shipping). This was one of a lot of Brandreth rods bought in the UK and brought to the US by an American fisherman who never got the chance to use them.
