Up for sale is an authentic, collectible Cold War-era West German Bundeswehr folding entrenching tool (Klappspaten), complete with its original heavy-duty leather belt carrier. This style of heavy folding shovel was standard issue for West German frontline Infantry and Combat Engineer (Pioniere) units digging in during the height of the Cold War. It features a rugged 3-position design that locks straight out for standard shoveling, or at a 90-degree angle to act as a pick/mattock.
