Second transaction with this most excellent buyer. Super nice guy - he contacted me about purchasing some items. A fair offer was made and a deal was easily struck. Buyer understood my tight timeframe on day of pickup, and suggested a location that was aligned to my travel plans. He helped me find a local Costco gas station, and even gave me some bottled water for the road. This speaks to the integrity of this person. Just a kind hearted, tender soul who, just like last time, is empathetic, but also a passionate, serious gun owner, who knows what he wants.
I would have loved to have talked with him longer just like last time, but he understood I had a long trip travelling and we were able to complete our business quickly and efficiently. Every once in a while you come across someone who just restores your faith in humanity. Gunzdontkillppl is one of those people. For me, there are certain aspects of doing business with someone which resonate with me, and qualities for which I consider a barometer of whether I will do business with them again, and would recommend them to others. Topping that list is integrity and character, which encompasses trustworthiness, honesty, and the old fashioned adage of a man's word is his bond. This gentleman personifies all these qualities in spades, and here is a person who exemplifies the very fact why legal gunowners on a whole have a level of trustworthiness that puts them a cut above the rest.
This gentleman reached out to me yesterday initially in the afternoon, expressing interest in some items I had. We were able to come to terms on a bulk package deal, and his communication was quick, efficient, professional, and friendly. He asked if we could meet in the middle between our home/work locations due to what would be an extremely long commute in rush hour Toronto traffic to get to me. He was willing to make it worth my time, and it was both reasonable and understandable, given that I have had my fair share of battling the unique creatures known as city drivers.
While he did not have to do this, he sent me a copy of his PAL in advance. I would have been happy to just visually check it upon meetup, but I already sensed that this gentleman wanted to assure me that he was a serious buyer, and wanted to do his part to ensure a smooth transaction. This says a lot about this man, especially being a younger guy. Just proof positive that old fogeys like me can and should never presume anything about a person based on their age (and vice versa).
When the time of our meeting came, he was very punctual and kept in communication with me frequently. We met at the location designated, and right away, I saw this person's friendliness and genuineness and authenticity. I ended up talking with Gunsdontkillppl for close to an hour, but not before he explained that due to an issue outside his control, he would only be able to buy 5 of out the 6 items. He was willing to e-transfer me the remainder of the funds for the final item the next day. I had absolutely no problem with this arrangement and just knew he would follow through, for the reasons I explained above. People of high moral character exemplify it not in just one instance, but in various facets. Gunzdontkillppl has already shown he he can be trusted. It doesn't matter whether a person is a new or veteran Gunposter. If you show up on time, are responsive, are a reasonable person, and do what you say, chances are these values permeate through your whole life. As a result, I gave him all the items and sure enough, the EMT came in very early this morning as promised.
