This is a follow up review from a transaction of about 1 month ago. I bought a scope from Ugin. It was fairly priced for a second hand scope, well packaged, and appeared to be in good order upon receipt. I only recently was able to take the scope to the range and use it and found that it was not functional.
Specifically, the elevation turret does not allow adjustment through the scopes range. After gingerly trying to move the elevation through its range several times, it is no wlimited to about 7 or 8 moa travel and is, of course, of no value.
I contacted Ugin about the issue and asked if he had dropped the scope or otherwise noticed the damage. He claimed it worked fine for him, zeroing a 308 to 100m without issue. He then pointed out that if the scope was faulty, the manufacturer warranty was very good.
I do not find this acceptable for a Buy/sell transaction and I am amending my user rating accordingly. It is my opinion that it would not be possible to Zero this scope and subsequently use it without being aware of the damage. Additionally, this is a 5-25x50 optic, which, in my experience, is not used to reach 100m.
None of what I have detailed here is exaggerated or hyperbolized. it is simply the facts.
I will steer well clear of Ugin in the future and I will also put any purchase completely through its paces immediately upon receiving it.
