Original German WWII M40 Heer Single-Decal Steel Helmet – SE66

Offered is an original German World War II M40 combat helmet shell stamped SE66, manufactured by Sächsische Emaillier- und Stanzwerke A.G. (SE) of Lauter, Germany. The M40 was introduced in 1940 as a simplified version of the earlier M35, retaining the rolled edge while incorporating pressed ventilation holes directly into the shell to streamline wartime production.

This helmet retains its original Heer (Army) eagle decal, now showing honest age and wear but still clearly identifiable. The shell still displays much of its original textured field-grey/green finish with expected paint loss and surface oxidation accumulated over decades.

The helmet is fitted with its complete leather liner, retaining all liner fingers, the original metal liner band, drawstring, and leather chinstrap with buckle. The leather has dried and stiffened with age and shows the expected wear of an untouched wartime example but remains complete.

The M40 helmet became one of Germany's most widely issued combat helmets during the Second World War and saw service on every major front from 1940 onward. The SE manufacturer was one of the principal wartime producers of German steel helmets.

This helmet is being sold as a historical military collectible exactly as shown in the photographs. I have made no attempts to clean, restore, repaint, or otherwise alter it.
