Genuine Vintage Kukri

This kukri is (forgive the pun) a cut above what's on the market at present. From my research, it's almost impossible to accurately date these and determine if it's antique, meaning 100 + yrs. old, or vintage. From the patina, I'm leaning toward it being a vintage piece. It's larger than the accepted military pattern kukris and you will note the 2 large fullers which help to reduce the weight of this very hefty knife. Interestingly, there's a pocket behind the one with the 2 knives (karda & chakmak) which contains a piece of leather the same as the sheath, purpose unknown. The workmanship and decorative elements lead me to believe that it was made for someone of higher status in Nepalese society. I don't think the diamond inlays are ivory but most probably bone. I've handled several kukris over the years but I've never seen or handled one like this. I'd prefer local pick up but I will ship on the buyer's dime.
