Up for sale is an amazing collaboration between Tashi Bharucha and Gudy van Poppel, sold under the brand name DBW from the Netherlands. I was hooked the moment I saw the blade profile. I've always been a fan of Tashi's work, and knowing his background, the Persian themed Xerxes design makes perfect sense. When I received the knife a few years back upon its initial release, I can proudly say that I wasn't disappointed at all! There are many incredible details that photos simply couldn't show, including the ergonomics and how the two handle slabs converges towards the tip of the blade when closed, making it very easy to notice if the blade is even slightly not centered - and of course there's none, it seats dead centered. The pivot runs on caged bearings and the action is very smooth. The flipper action is crisp thanks to the bearings and the well executed detent. It feels like a good 1911 trigger, not super light, but crisp and reliable every time. The blade and the titanium handle both feature an acid washed finish, giving the knife a subtle yet robust look.
The knife was a limited production and has been long discontinued.
