Gerber Applegate Fairbairn Combat Folder, no longer in production.

The Gerber Applegate Fairbairn Combat Folder USA Serrated 05780N with serial number 0870318L was first produced in 1996. This knife features a partially serrated bead blasted stainless steel blade with spear point blade and dual thumb studs.  It was part of Gerber's military product line, designed for tactical applications.

This one is a weird found. According to the Model Number and the serial number, it was confirmed as the First Production Run in 1996, however there is no inscription on the blade like the other first-run model. 

Another thing is that this knife comes with a Roto-Lock second safety feature. When Gerber designed this rendition of the fighting knife, they certainly didn’t want the blade to accidentally fold at a critical time. To solve this problem, they decided to add the patented Roto-lock mechanism. Basically, it’s a lever on the back of the knife that will block the liner lock from allowing the knife to fold. This essentially gives you a folder that acts as a fixed blade. A guy from YouTube tested the liner lock by tapping the ridge of the blade to a wood table, and the blade will fold; going straight is no problem, but roto-lock does help a lot.

I believed you cannot buy it in Canada anymore, only online from other countries. I used it to cut a few things when I first got it, then put it away. This nice folder comes with all the papers, box and a Gerber nylon holster.
