Circa 1810 British Navy Dirk Dagger and Knife Collector Interest

Royal Navy Georgian-period midshipman's dirk with a scimitar blade. Exceptionally, this piece retains its original scabbard and matching chains. The ebony grip shows fine wire designs, and there are remains of gilt wash on the brass fittings. The scimitar blade is also in good condition with floral designs. There is an old scabbard repair, which is not unexpected for something over 200 years old. It draws and sheathes well. The stitching on the scabbard is intact. This is a top shelf survivor from the golden age of naval warfare.
