Bringing back one of the classics! The Type 81 LMG Polymer Lower Picatinny Handguard replaces the wooden handguard with a sleek design that lets you mount your preferred grip to the bottom rail. The handguard is mounted with the bottom screw.

This handguard is made from High-Temperature Polyamide reinforced with Carbon Fiber (PAHT-CF). The base material is PA12, which is tougher, more chemical, and more heat-resistant than PA6 (which is typically used by companies such as HK and Magpul for accessories). PAHT-CF generally is twice as expensive as PA6 but is the best in class for your needs. The handguard's finish is also nearly identical to similar injection moulded products.

Years ago, I tested this design with a material with weaker heat properties than the PAHT-CF material I use here. Since the handguard is designed to be far from the barrel, it easily held up to my mag dumps. Believe it or not, this new material can handle temperatures as far as 194 °C!

NOTE: Due to the manufacturing process, the unit has marks in the Picatinny slots. This is due to the tedious nature of the manufacturing.
