Pair of WWI German Kommandantur Lille Ersatz Signal/ Flare Pistols

Two original First World War German Kommandantur Lille / Kdtur Lille ersatz signal pistols, manufactured in occupied Belgium for German forces during WWI.

Both examples feature the characteristic long steel barrel, wooden grip panels, rear cocking plunger and side-opening ( one have a lock) barrel system associated with the Lille depot pattern. Period markings and serial numbers are visible on the pistols.

Also included are two soft protective storage sleeves.

A very interesting matched display pair representing a relatively scarce WWI German ersatz signal-pistol type.
