This is an Antique Remington Beals Navy Percussion Revolver. Made 1861-1862. It has a 6 shot round cylinder chambered in .36 percussion. The barrel is 7-1/2” long with the barrel address being fully visible. The barrel marking: BEALS PATENT SEPT. 14. 1858/MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS’ ILION, N.Y.. Almost no original finish left. The grips show a light amount of wear with a some light dings and rounded edges at the bottom. Mechanically strong with proper timing and good lock up. All serial numbers match.
The Remington Beals Navy only saw around 14500 units produced from 1861-1862. A small quantity were sold to the U.S. government with the majority going into commercial sales.
This Remington would make a great addition to any Civil War era arms collection and are not likely to find a more enjoyable revolver to shoot.
