Colt Thunderer .41LC *SOLD PENDING FUNDS*

For your consideration is a Colt Thunderer double action Sheriff or shopkeepers model meaning a 2-1/2" barrel.  This is an early production model with a 4 digit serial number.  Mechanics are perfect in both single and double action and the bore has good strong rifling though there is clearly some black powder corrosion.  All serial numbers match.  This was Colt's response to the Smith & Wesson double action revolver and their attempt to compete.  Sadly, the Colt offering was not as robust and durable as the Smith & Wesson and never gained the same reputation.  The "Thunderer" was more compact and manageable than the bigger S&W offering and was well regarded in that aspect as well as the more manageable .41 vs the .44.  See the picture for a comparison between a 5" S&W DA and the Colt.  Also available is a box with 43 rnds. of RN reloads with reloadable Starline brass.  If the ammo is unwanted, deduct $400. off the listed price.  I'd prefer local pick up but I will ship on the buyer's dime.  Thanks for looking.
