Antique status Belgian proofed Galand in the 12mm/450 cartridge.
An obviously refinished revolver, with beautiful walnut grips that are also obviously not original. There appears to be some sort of perhaps unit marking on the right side of the barrel but I can’t connect it to any known military deployment of the Galand revolver.
Everything works including the ever finicky ejection system. Single and double action are both strong and crisp. It has several newly made springs in it.
It has a clean bore with the typical very aggressive Galand pattern rifling.
There is some play in the ejector system. To be expected with 4 pivot points.
I would say this is primarily a display/discussion piece. Its function and I have fired a few test rounds and it groups surprisingly well. But it’s definitely not what I would reach for as a regular shooter.
