C1848 Antique Henry Aston US Contract Model 1842 Dragoon Precussion Pistol.Made in 1848 in Middletown Connecticut at the end of the Mexican / American War . This was the first official percussion pistol to be adopted by US and the last smooth bore pistol by 1845 . Primary issued to the first and second Regiments of Dragoons replacing their 1836 flintlocks by the US Army.
