Very clean nickled finish 1855 colt "root" side hammer

A very clean colt 1855 sidehammer with nickel finish, in .31 percussion.

•According to colt records the pistol was made in 1861.

•90% nickel finish remaining, most of the missing 10% is under the top strap and behind the cylinder. 

•Mechanism works, crisp and tight. Lockup is good especially for its age. 

•Remnants of "J.koch" engraved in the grips. Not just scribbled, done professionally at some point in its history.
