British Bulldog, Fagnus Clement, Very Fancy

Fagnus & Clement British Bulldog manufactured pre 1893 as shown by its cylinder bearing the Belgium pre 1893 ELG proofmark. 44 Russian, 3 1/8" barrel, 5 shot. This is definitely not you're average run of the mill Bulldog, it's definitely the fanciest, most unique example I've seen. Firstly it's produced by a known manufacturer and not a unknown producer. It has very nice factory engraving. The pearl grips appear original to the gun, they have some gapping from shrinkage over time which is common with real pearl. The trigger, cylinder, hammer, center pin and ejector rod are finished in an old "gold wash" type finish, it may be original but I can't say for certain. This definitely would have been the premium upgraded Bulldog of the day and there's definitely not many in circulation as most would have settled for the base model. 44 Russian fits in cylinder well, headspace by rim face to breach is tight so rim face would need to be thinned/filed down to allow smooth cycling. Action functions well in single action with good half and full cock. Timing and lockup are great, lockup is very solid for a bulldog. In double action it often hangs up on first trigger pull but if you pull again then it engages and cycles well. Definitely a very eye grabbing, highly optioned very rare Bulldog example!
