Italian Model 1889 Bodeo Revolver. Manufactured by Gilsenti Brescia in 1897, the last eligible year for antique status! These revolvers were used by Italy all the way up to WW2. Chambered in 10.4mm which is basically a trimmed 44 Russian/Special shell. Most use trimmed 44 Russian/Special brass in these or some have reamed cylinders to remove the taper so as to accept full length 44 Russian brass. 4.5" barrel, 6 shot. The action on this piece functions well in single and double action. Timing is good, lockup is good with only slight common movement in lockup, nothing concerning. Bore and cylinder walls rate good, they have common age related wear/pitting. Exterior shows wear. Original grips have no cracks but have dents/dings, lanyard ring is intact. These 1889's have a fold down trigger that can be secured upright, these models were for enlisted men. The ejection rod is quite stiff inside the cylinder pin due to the rod being a bit wavy, not an issue. Overall a unique piece! Antique status in Canada, no PAL required to purchase or own. Will include an RCMP FRT printout showing antique status in Canada. $2095 includes Free Shipping, insurance extra, EMT preferred.
