Iver Johnson American Bulldog in 44 Caliber, 2 3/8" barrel, 5 shot. 44 Russian works well in this revolver, full length 44 Russian brass with RNFP bullet is best for length. These large caliber Bulldogs offered a big punch in a compact package. Back in the late 19th century many opted to carry one of these vs a large Colt/S&W all day as they were about half the weight and size but still with similar power. The action on this piece functions excellent in single and double action. Timing and lockup are great. Bore and cylinder walls rate very good for a vintage revolver. Cylinder center star has wear to the teeth but still functions excellent. Original dogs head grips, right panel has a small piece missing at bottom. Original nickel finish retains 90% or so and shows well for a vintage revolver. If you need brass, lead or dies please inquire. Antique status in Canada, no PAL required to purchase or own.
