1873 production Colt Cloverleaf.. One of very first Colt models designed for metallic cartridges. Essentially Colts answer to the Remington derringer when cylinder carried with two on either side (see picture) as opposed to one under the chamber, Safer to carry than the Remington derringer with double the shots, and close in size, especially in the rare 1.5 inch inch models.
Patent date of 1871 clearly stamped on frame over cylinder, Colt’s House Pistol and Hartford address clearly stamped on barrel. Serial number on bottom of barrel and bottom of grip. Still retains the cartridge stop that is quite often lost , preventing cartridges from sliding out the loading ramp when in battery. Locks up tight when cocked, obviously single action only.
Think this is an older re nickeling job , everything as seen in pictures, rifling decent for an old .41 rf revolver. For its age in pretty good shape.
Complete reloading kits for .41 rf available online, Either H&C out of France (cheaper) or Chris at Old Guns Canada, (local) basically come with reusable brass, number of heeled bullets and loading apparatus, just need to get black powder .22 cal blanks and follow directions.
Only selling as got a nicer example, much like a sports card collector, get a better one and sell the one you surpassed, and apply to cost of new one, and so on and so on until you die and then your children sell them for trip to Disney LOL.
Antique so no PAL required, but must be over 21 with an ID
This is a blackpowder gun and should only be fired with black powder ammunition.
Always have all used firearms checked by qualified gunsmith prior to shooting ammunition out of them.
$1600$. OBO
