S&W Model 3 , 44 American, Antique

Smith & Wesson Model 3 American, Second Model in 44 American caliber. As was common with many of the longer barreled S&W's this one has had it's barrel shortened to 4.25" a long time ago. The action on this piece functions well. Half and full hammer position work great. Timing and lockup are great as well. Bore and cylinder walls rate good with common wear. Cylinder extractor works well as it should and lifts upon barrel tilt to eject brass and snaps back in place upon full barrel tilt. Original grips, right panel has XIT branded in, likely from a former cowboy owner. Barrel to frame connection is good. Most use 41 Remington Mag as a base brass for reloading 44 American. $2795 includes Free Shipping. Antique status in Canada, no PAL required to purchase or own.
