A simple and reliable, the Kentucky Long Rifle has had history stretching back to the colonial period of North America. This was a Traditions D.I.Y. kit that I made quite a while ago, just haven't shot in a while. The barrel has a tough nitride finish which has really helped prevent over-fouling and rust accumulation.
The ram-rod has been replaced with a robust reinforced polymer rod with screw-in replaceable tip. This is to prevent warping, bending, and breaking of the ramrod and to fit multiple cleaning attachments to it.
Works best around 75 grains of FF Black powder 50 caliber roundball; quite accurate!
