Antique 1854 Cavalry Horse Carbine Barn Find (Civil War)

Imported  Austrian Relic Model 1854 Lorenz Cavalry Carbine (German) for the Civil War which is a” Barn Find” from Tennessee.  Propped up in the corner of this old cattle barn covered in rust & cob webs just waiting for you.

First things first this is a “Barn Find”  full of rust galore and untouched for over 150 years. It was found in Tennessee as is. Mud in the barrel and rust every where. Stock is soiled without any cracks. Still has 1 rear barrel ban rusted as well. Lock is rusted closed.

 The history as follows The Austrian Model 1854 Lorenz was primarily a .54 cal. percussion rifle-musket designed by Lieutenant Joseph Lorenz, rather than a standard cavalry carbine. . In American ordnance records, they were frequently classified as "Prussian Muskets, caliber .72" or .74 Calvary Carbine with a 16 inch barrel.

 Imported Prussian Model 1839 Infantry Musket (or its Model 1839/55 percussion-rifled update by both Union & Confederate ordnance Prussian state arsenal (such as Saarn, Potsdam, Danzig, or Spandau meet the desperate demand for arms. In American ordnance records, they were frequently classified as "Prussian Muskets.
