TOZ-8M .22LR "Mosin Trainer"

Howdy Gunpost. I'm selling my TOZ-8M cause I have too many .22's. 

This is probably one of the nicest examples of one of these you are going to find. These were training/ target rifles and they were treated roughly in their military lives. The original finishes on these rifles were a flaky and thin shellac type finish that were not very durable. As a result, most of the surplus 8M's you see have  chipping and scratched up stocks. This example has been given a nice urethane finish. The wood was uniquely quite dark on this example already but a slight amount of walnut stain was added to the finish to even out the colour of the stock. The metal and bluing are overall quite good and the receiver cap is present (they're often missing).

The rifle has a nice heavy target barrel with good rifling. The barrel is heavy to mimic the weight and handling of a Mosin Nagant 91-30 rifle but as a result is a nice thick .22 target barrel. The markings are of the earlier type with more numbering stamped on the rear sight elevator where as the later ones are abbreviated. The receiver has a tip-off style dovetail on it so you can mount and optic if you so desire.

The rifle is located for pickup in SW Calgary in the Westgate area. I am also completely fine with shipping it nationwide, which of course would be at the buyer's expense.

Payment can be made to me by either Cash, E-transfer or a personal cheque. The cheque must clear and I will retain the rifle for 5 business days after the cheque is deposited before releasing the rifle to the buyer, if you choose to pay with a cheque.
