| RARE Matching 1950 Canadian Lee Enfield Long Branch No. 4 Mk1* |
I have here a matching 1950 Long Branch No. 4 Mk1 Enfield. Online sources say 1950 is Long Branch's best production year!
Some details on the rifle—bolt and receiver both match. Rear sight is marked MK 3 (with LB marking on the opposite side). The small bits have the correct LB and/or Canadian Arsenals markings. The barrel has some particularly interesting markings. There's a DC proof mark with crossing flags. Besides, it has an upside-down U and C marking along with the CA stamp. There is also an 'I' marking. The metal parts retain the majority of their surface finish. Some parts have some surface pitting, but this is purely cosmetic. The only exception is the rear handguard retainer, which could easily be swapped out for a new one. The bore is a stunner. The rifling is immaculate and nice and shiny—no frosting or pitting whatsoever. I ran 174-grain .303 PPU ammo through it and it stabilizes the rounds very well. The wood has a fair amount of dings and dents. It won't win any prizes, but there's definitely a story to tell.
Overall, a great shooter-grade Long Branch for a year that's hard to come by.
I am asking $1995 + shipping. You can look no further than collector source to see a collector-grade version run for $2895 pre-tax. Trades considered for other milsurps, especially an M1 Garand and Persian Mauser.
PAL will be verified in accordance with the CFP guidelines.
