Rare S.M.R.C. Martini-Henry IC1 Carbine – .22 LR Bonehill Conversion (1893)
For sale is a unique piece of British shooting history.
This is an original Martini-Henry IC1 (Interchangeable Carbine) frame manufactured by H.R.B. Co. in 1893, later professionally converted to .22 LR for the Society of Miniature Rifle Clubs (S.M.R.C.) by the legendary C.G. Bonehill of Birmingham.
- Action: Crisp Martini falling-block action with "V.R." (Victoria Regina) cypher and Broad Arrow military marks.
- Markings: High-relief "S.M.R.C. SPECIAL" and Bonehill conversion roll-stamps on the left receiver.
- Sights: Period-correct target sights, including a rear tang aperture sight and hooded front.
- Serial: Low serial #35.
- Condition: Metal has a beautiful honest patina; wood shows character consistent with its 130+ year history. A very well-preserved example of a "Miniature" match rifle.
A must-have for Martini collectors or vintage small-bore competitors.
