The crown jewel of any serious Finnish collection. A magnificent "Triple-Nation" historical rifle in pristine, investment-grade condition.
Up for sale is an incredibly unique, ultra-rare variant of the Finnish M39 bolt-action rifle. Built by VKT (Valtion Kivääritehdas) in 1944, this rifle is built on a highly prized, historic receiver featuring a prominent Austro-Hungarian World War I capture stamp. This is a true museum-quality piece that combines an unissued-grade bore with an exceptional, deeply layered combat pedigree.
The Details & Incredible Triple-Nation History
WWI Austrian "AZF" Capture Stamp: Deeply and cleanly stamped on the hex receiver flat is the highly coveted AZF (Artillerie-Zeugs-Fabrik ~ Vienna) proof mark. This indicates the receiver originated on an Imperial Russian rifle captured by Austro-Hungarian forces during WWI, which was later acquired by Finland to build this ultimate M39 configuration.
Potential Antique Receiver: Because it is an Imperial Russian hex receiver captured during the Great War, there is a very high probability the tang dates to the antique era (pre-1899), adding immense value and historical allure.
Crisp SAKO Stock Cartouches: The right side of the buttstock features an incredibly sharp, deeply struck SAKO gear-wheel logo next to a crisp inspector proof. Finding stock markings this sharp and unaffected by sanding or wear is exceptionally rare.
Full Military Proofs: The barrel shank features a flawless VKT diamond logo, a clear [SA] Finnish Army property mark, a D chamber stamp, and a clear 1944 date.
Condition Report
Bore: Absolute mirror bright. The rifling is razor-sharp, deep, and looks practically un-fired. This is a true top-tier collector bore, entirely free of frosting or dark grooves.
Wood Stock: Stunning, premium condition. The arctic birch stock displays magnificent chatoyancy and prominent tiger-stripe figuring running down the handguard and forearm. The wood is exceptionally clean with razor-sharp edges around the finger joints and hand grooves, displaying only the minor handling marks of a meticulously preserved rifle.
Metalwork & Bluing: Beautiful, deep original bluing covers the barrel and receiver. The metal surfaces are incredibly clean, showing sharp factory lines and virtually no high-edge silvering.
