Up for auction - Marlin lever-action, model 1895 GBL, 45-70 government! Blued/Laminate stock. 18.5" Barrel. Tubular magazine holds 6 plus one in the tube, but really only ever need one. Short length is perfect for closer quarters in thick bush. Located in Edmonton AB. In good used condition. Cycles smooth, everything works as it should. Scope holds zero even with the recoil. Has legendary recoil too with heavy ammo. Has lots of small marks from being hunted with over the years. GBL stands for Guide Big Loop, and is great for gloves in winter. Comes with Leopold scope mount and rings, Cabela's pine ridge 45-70 scope (not that bad for 100-200 ft), high- quality leather sling and swivels, soft case, original Marlin lever lock set, master cable lock, hammer spur, owners manual, butler creek quick open scope covers, and if locally picked up a small pack of (5)405 grain thumpers. Yes, had many an adventure with this great rifle including my first moose! And now that I have not used it in a few years I'd like to pass on the security, humane and quick stopping power, and over all fun of a Marlin 45-70. I bought this rifle originally for camping alone while hunting in bear country. It has always provided security while alone by the fire. It's taken deer with one quick thump, and is the most humane caliber I've used. But the irony of that last part is worth looking up the calibers history.
