Up for consideration is a Savage Sporter in .32-20, a wonderfully interesting old-school bolt-action that has clearly lived a good life—and been well cared for along the way.
This rifle includes the original magazine and appears to be all original, with the possible exception of a single screw in the side scope mount (even legends pick up a replacement button over the decades). The serial number sits in the 41xxx range, and while I haven’t nailed down the exact year, these were produced between 1923 and 1942.
Condition-wise, it looks like it’s been lightly hunted, not abused—think Sunday walks, not a bush gun. For a firearm that’s 80+ years old, it’s in genuinely impressive shape. The appearance suggests it spent more time being respected than rattling around in the back of a truck.
And really… the stories this rifle could tell—early mornings, frosty fields, maybe a few rabbits that never saw it coming. If you’re looking for a classic piece with character, history, and a caliber that’s as charming as it is practical, this Savage checks all the boxes.
Old soul. Honest steel. Still ready to be appreciated.
