Very nicely restored to original configuration as were issued to Canadian Mounted Horse and Artillery soldiers for the 2nd Boer War in South Africa 1899-1902.
This rifle features an unusual sling that was adapted by the mounted horse units and has the rear sight leather dust cover and screws if the purchaser chooses to install. The rifle also features a dust cover and a cut-off magazine and to a 6 round attached .303 magazine.
The rifle cycles smoothly and has fair to good rifling for a 128 year old.
