A Triple-Nation Combat Veteran: American-Made, German-Captured, Finnish-Marked!

If you are an advanced military surplus collector who values an incredible backstory, this is a phenomenal piece. This Model 1891 Mosin-Nagant traveled the globe across two world wars, moving through three completely different nations’ military hands.

This piece is a literal window into the chaotic arms landscape of early 20th-century Europe.

The Historical Lineage (A True Globe-Trotter)

  1. Born in the USA (1915): In the early stages of WWI, the cash-strapped Imperial Russian government contracted American firms to build rifles. This barrel was proudly manufactured by the New England Westinghouse Company in 1915. It still features the stunning, crisp Imperial Russian Tsarist double-headed eagle stamp right on the top of the barrel shank.
  2. Captured by Imperial Germany (WWI): At some point during the brutal fighting on the Eastern Front, this rifle was captured by the German Empire. It features the incredibly scarce and highly desirable German Deutches Reich ("DR") property stamp on the stock, marking it as a WWI battle prize utilized by German rear-guard or frontline units.
  3. Refined by Finland (WWII): After WWI, the rifle made its way into the hands of the young Finnish nation. The barrel shank features the crisp boxed [SA] (Suomen Armeija) stamp, proving it was tested and approved for frontline use by the Finnish Army during their desperate struggle against the Soviets.
